Position: Part-Time Bookseller

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A love for books!

  • An awareness of and interest in keeping up with new titles, including comfort and knowledge in different genres.

  • Excellent communications skills in person, via email, and over the phone. 

  • Outstanding organizational abilities, an orientation to detail (there are lots of moving parts here), and a commitment to following through.

  • Enthusiasm!

  • Required availability to work Fridays, weekday evenings, and weekends; hours and daily schedule will vary.

Other Requirements:

  • Must genuinely enjoy being around and talking to people

  • Comfortable with alphabetizing and shelving books (a large part of the job)

  • Handling used book buying

  • General store upkeep (mopping, sweeping, dusting, etc.)

  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and lift (briefly) boxes up to 40 pounds. 

Bonus Qualities (nice to have, not required):

  • Customer service experience

  • Interest in or experience with children’s activities like crafts and storytime

  • Experience with or interest in hosting store events (author events, game nights, book clubs, etc.)

Hours and Compensation:

  • 10-15 hours per week

  • $21.03/hour
